Five people, including a young girl, were hospitalized Friday night after a shooting erupted in a Pacoima neighborhood.

PACOIMA, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Five people, including a young girl and her father, were hospitalized Friday night after a shooting erupted in a Pacoima neighborhood. The shooter was at large after the incident.

Emergency personnel responded to a home near Pala Avenue and Jouett Street shortly before 8 p.m. Authorities found four men between the ages of 20 and 30 suffering from gunshot wounds.

"I saw the bodies on the ground - with more blood than I've ever seen before," said neighbor Gabriel McCoy.

A girl, between the age of 8 and 10, was also found injured after being grazed by gunfire. Two of the other victims were critically injured, and the wounded girl's father was listed as stable. The condition of the fifth victim was unknown.

Footage from AIR7 HD showed first responders tending to one man who was bleeding heavily. He was moved onto a gurney and taken into an ambulance. The little girl was seen sitting upright in a gurney and wheeled into another ambulance.

Witnesses described hearing eight to 10 shots in the shooting.

"We have recovered some shell casings," said Capt. Donald Graham of the Los Angeles Police Department. "Judging from the holes it could be anything from a small-caliber handgun to a rifle."

It was unclear what led to the shooting. The investigation was ongoing.
