KOREATOWN, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A 74-year-old man was killed in a senior living apartment fire in Koreatown Monday night, according to fire officials.

Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters knocked down the fire shortly before 11 p.m. The blaze burned in one unit on the 3rd floor of the 16-story high rise in the 600 block of S. Normandie Avenue, officials said.

Officials at the scene rendered aid to the victim, but he succumbed to his injuries and was determined dead at the scene.

His identity was not immediately released.

All other occupants were being re-housed, according to fire officials.

Investigators said it appeared the fire may have started in the kitchen of the apartment unit, possibly on a stove.

The victim's cause of death will be determined by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner.

LAFD arson investigators were called to the scene, but officials later confirmed the blaze was not being treated as a suspicious fire.
