We've rolled out big, exciting updates to our news app, including more customization, personalized push alerts and an enhanced live video experience. If you want the most relevant stories delivered to your phone in real-time, our new rollout gives you just that. The app is easy to use, always up-to-date and optimized for today's news reader. It's also easy to share articles via Twitter, Facebook and email.
We're listening! ABC7 received lots of feedback about the new app, and we've made some important improvements based on that feedback.
- We no longer auto-play video on story pages. This means that you will not have to worry about using our app in places where audio can be a problem.
- We're giving you the option of turning off the short video previews that play while you swipe through the Top News section. Simply go to Settings, scroll down to video settings, then select "never autoplay videos."
- We've simplified the My News section so that you can more easily personalize the section and only view the stories from topics that interest you most. Click on My News from the bottom menu, then star the topics you'd like to follow and tap Done. You now have your own personalized news feed!
These are not the last changes we will make, and we are listening and will continue to make improvements that are in the best interest of our app users: you! As always, we want to hear from you. If you have feedback to share, go to Settings within the app, tap on feedback form and send us your comments.
