LOS ANGELES - A dazzling lightning storm in northern Los Angeles County on Saturday night inspired trepidation and awe among witnesses, many of whom captured the display on video.
Twitter user @Izzy_bell20 of Winnetka, one of many who posted footage on social media, said she had "never seen anything like this!"
Others reported seeing spectacular lightning in Burbank, Santa Clarita, Stevenson Ranch, Lancaster and Northridge.
A severe thunderstorm warning was in effect for Palmdale, Quartz Hill and Lancaster until 8:15 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
There were no reports of injuries or damage due to lightning strikes.
