Supermoon lights up the sky around the world

Photographers around the world flocked outside this weekend to capture incredible shots of the supermoon.

This month's supermoon has been shining brighter than most have seen in our lifetimes.

Nov. 14 marks the closest the moon has been to the Earth since 1948 and the closest it will be until 2034. The difference to the moon's normal size might not be significant enough to easily spot, but if you watch it near the horizon there is an optical illusion that makes it appear even bigger, AccuWeather explains.

Naturally, photographers around the world flocked outside this weekend to document the stunning celestial show. From China to Spain to the United States and everywhere in between, see some of the best supermoon shots in the video above.
