ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. - A viral video published Saturday morning shows a Los Angeles Fire Department truck traveling southbound on the Florida Turnpike as firefighters prepare to assist with the response to Hurricane Irma.
"This is so freakin' cool," Franco Powers says while recording the footage from inside his vehicle. "These boys are all the way from California. That is bad--- right there."
In the 20-second clip, the LAFD Swiftwater Rescue Team truck is seen towing a trailer with two outboard motorboats as it travels along the highway outside Orlando.
"Choked me up," Powers wrote in his tweet, which had received 11,499 "likes" and 4,646 retweets by Saturday evening.
Eighty LAFD rescue personnel were in Florida and "honored to help Floridians during Hurricane Irma, on behalf of the people of Los Angeles," a spokesperson for the agency said.
