WEST COVINA, Calif. - A woman in her 30s was killed in a hit-and-run crash in West Covina early Thursday morning.
The incident occurred around 1 a.m. near Azusa and Francisquito avenues.
West Covina police said a small, dark-colored vehicle hit the woman as she was crossing the street. The car then fled the scene.
The woman was transported to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Her identity was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The intersection was shut down for the investigation but has since reopened.
Investigators are checking possible surveillance footage from the area as the search continues for the hit-and-run vehicle.
