Australian rock royalty call it quits

They've issued a joint statement saying they are ending their marriage of four years. Imbruglia has been spending more time in Europe for her career, while Johns spends most of his time in Australia and North America.

They say it's "very sad" that their marriage is ending, but they want to make it clear that they are parting amicably and they remain friends. The couple agrees it was a mutual decision that was not made lightly or quickly.

They say, "We have simply grown apart through not being able to spend enough time together."

Imbruglia and Johns began dating in 1999 and were married on New Year's Eve 2003.
