Police say the officer is out of the hospital and expected to make a full recovery after being shot twice in the leg.
The officer was on patrol Wednesday when he saw three men run across Normandie. He went to investigate a little bit further and they took off. Police say the officer chased one of the men into an alley, and as he came around the corner, the suspect opened fire.
