Still no sign of swept-away teen

POINT MUGU (KABC) The U.S. Coast Guard began the search Sunday morning, scouring the waters by boat.

Search teams also walked along the coastline, looking for the teen. Divers with the Ventura County Sheriff's Department joined the search Sunday afternoon.

Around noon on Saturday, Victor Mentez, 17, originally from Oaxaca, Mexico, disappeared while fishing with his family on some rocks near Point Mugu. A big wave then came and swept the boy away.

Sunday was the second day search crews spent looking for him, and so far, there's no sign.

Church members from Oxnard also joined the search on Sunday. They come out every week to Point Mugu, but today they prayed for the missing teen.

Authorities had issued a high surf advisory for all Southern California beaches where 6-9 ft swells were expected.

Authorities say Mentez was not a good swimmer.
