Herbal remedy blamed for kids' seizures

NEW YORK CITY (KABC) Doctors say the children had seizures after their parents rubbed them down with a Chinese-made camphor product. The remedy is used to fight off fever and illness.

Experts say camphor can be toxic to young children.

"We started using it putting it on neck, chest. She was running a fever, got worse and worse," said mother Yoleta Perez.

Yoleta Perez says all three of her children had seizure disorders after taking camphor.

Doctors are urging parents to be cautious because none of the products carry warning labels.
