Man sought for NoHo attempted kidnapping

NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CNS) Shortly after 2 p.m. Thursday, the man went to Saticoy Elementary and tried to take the boy from class by telling school personnel that he was the child's father, according to a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman.

The man then spoke to the boy in Armenian, telling him that he was a friend of his father's. But he told the teacher in English he was the boy's father, according to the LAP.

The teacher told the man to wait until the child had finished his schoolwork and he did so for a short period of time, but left when the boy's grandmother arrived. She told police that no one had given the man permission to pick up her grandson, according to the LAPD.

The suspect was described as an Armenian man about 35 to 40 years old and 6 feet tall, with a husky build, brown eyes and short black hair thinning in the back with gray at the temples.

The suspect was driving a black Mercedes-Benz.

Anyone with information was asked to call detectives at the LAPD's North Hollywood station at (818) 623-4075. On evenings and weekends, call 1-877- LAWFULL.
