GPS helps doctors fight artery disease

(KABC) People with the disease have clogged leg arteries that cause severe pain when they walk. Researchers used GPS devices to track how far patients could walk before the pain became unbearable.

Researchers found the test was more accurate than the current treadmill test because they say the GPS allows for analysis of the distance walked, as well as speed and duration.

The study is published in the current issue of Circulation.
