Gun scare locks down 2 Placentia schools

Reports of gunfire forced two schools into lockdown in Placentia Friday afternoon.Placentia police received a call reporting one to two gunshots in the area of Valencia High School and Kraemer Middle School on the 500 block of North Bradford Ave.

Both schools were locked down in response. Students were released at 4:30 after police determined no one with a gun was in the area.

Police were searching the area for a person with a gun.

An Anaheim police helicopter was assisting the search.

The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District stated the police activity was in the surrounding area of the schools, but was not located on either school campus.
