Skateboarder allegedly kills man at IHOP

Skater tried to flee the scene on his board

A 44-year-old man was stabbed outside of a Culver City International House of Pancakes. The assailant: a 37-year-old skateboarder. The incident occurred near the 4070 Lincoln Blvd. location. According to reports, an argument between the victim and the suspect, Victor Vela, began in front of a Los Angeles bar.

After the dispute, Vela followed the victim across the street to the restaurant. There, the victim has attacked with a chain and fatally stabbed with a knife.

He was taken to UCLA Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Vela attempted to flee the scene on his skateboard, but he was captured by police.

The victim's name is being withheld, pending family notification.
