LOS ANGELES --
A court-ordered closing of Wickes Furniture stores may mean big savings for Southland shoppers. 38 of the chains stores in California, Nevada and two Midwestern states will shut down and liquidate stock due to a bankruptcy ruling.
Discounts of up to 50 percent have been reported.
The renowned furniture retailer filed for Chapter 11 protection in early February. In court papers, the company listed its debt between $50 million and $100 million.
