Investigators say they don't yet know whether the attack was racially motivated.
"How can our kids be free of this type of activity that's taken over our streets?" said Eddie Jones, L.A. Civil Rights Association. "We don't want gang violence. We don't want shooting."
Two alleged Latino gang members are under arrest in connection with the shooting.
Ernesto Murillo, 25, and Ismael Torres, 26, appeared in court Friday, but their arraignment was re-scheduled for March 24. Murillo, of Torrance, is reportedly a documented gang member. He is accused of being the shooter in Tuesday's incident. Torres, of Wilmington, is believed by authorities to be a gang associate.
Each suspect faces 60 years to life in prison if found guilty.
