SAN FRANCISCO --
The Coast Guard is still searching for two sailors taking part in a sailing race just beyond the Golden Gate Bridge whose boat never returned. The 32-foot sailboat "Daisy" was last seen around 1 p.m. Saturday about six miles west of the Golden Gate heading toward the bridge.
The daylong race to a buoy about 14 miles west of the bridge and back was scheduled to end around 4 p.m.
The Coast Guard launched its search about two hours later after the boat and the two men on board failed to arrive at the finish.
Patrol boats and aircraft were hunting for the pair and their vessel Sunday morning as far south as Monterey.
