A chase went on for several miles, and at one point, police say the suspect brandished a rifle while driving through a neighborhood.
The chase finally ended in Garden Grove.
Police say when officers moved in for the arrest, one officer shot the suspect.
32-year-old Jose Francisco Rodriguez was taken to the hospital and was in stable condition.
Police say they recovered the rifle.
An investigation is now underway.
