Authorities were sent there on a report a man had been shot.
That man was wounded but is expected to survive.
An officer at the scene caught up with the gunman moments later.
That's when the two exchanged gunfire.
Police believe they wounded the suspect but he escaped in a back alley with his weapon.
Police are considering the suspect armed and dangerous.
