Bills to help kids with autism

SACRAMENTO The centers for disease control estimates that one out of every 150 children born in the state has some sort of autism spectrum disorder.

Lawmakers introduced eight bills on Wednesday to increase services to help those children live normal lives.

Actor Gary Cole is coping with his daughter's autism.

"When you have a child with autism, it can affect your life in ways you are unable to foresee, and even when you clear a hurdle, another one can pop up just as quickly," Cole said.

Experts say it costs about $3 million for a lifetime of care for a child with autism.
