13 arraigned on marijuana-growing charges

SAN DIEGO (CNS) Agents from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the San Diego Narcotics Task Force executed search warrants Monday in Vista, Fallbrook, Ramona and Valley Center.

More than 6,800 marijuana plants were found at sophisticated indoor growing operations at four of five residences that were raided, agents said.

The DEA also filed a civil complaint to seize the homes.

Court documents allege that two of the defendants, Thomas Swift and Kevin D. Kennedy, owned or controlled the residences where the marijuana was discovered.

The defendants are due back in court on April 29.
