Did injury save a contestant on 'Dancing'?

LOS ANGELES Shannon Elizabeth loved being a part of "Dancing with the Stars." And she certainly made an impact with her fellow competitors.

"Shannon obviously cared about what she was doing and she was really into it and competitive," said Jason Taylor. "She kind of danced like she plays poker. She's 'all in' and very committed to doing it. You know, she was emotional and took it very serious. It was very evident to everybody that she cared."

"She's a great sport and she came every week and she did the best job she possibly could and she was always backstage supporting all of us," said Karina Smirnoff.

"The show's been amazing and I've learned a lot and I've made a friend for life and hopefully a lot of friends for life," said Shannon.

"You don't want to see anyone leave because there is a great feeling here right now," said Kristi Yamaguchi. "I think we all really enjoy each other's company."

But no one enjoys being in the company of that red light. Marissa Jaret Winokur and her partner, Tony Dovolani, felt the glare for the first time this week.

"I can't believe that we've made it this far," said Marissa. "Such a dream. I feel like we've already won."

Despite being last with the judges this week after suffering an injury on the dance floor, Cristian de la Fuente and Cheryl Burke won enough fan support to stay put.

Cristian tore a tendon in his arm but his doctor says he can delay surgery.

"So I would stay as long as, you know, we can dance for good scores and people vote because at the end of the day, this is what the show is about, you know?" said Cristian.

Cheryl told her partner if he didn't feel he could continue, she completely understood, but if he thought he could, they'd be careful with her choreography.

"I've been fighting from the beginning. You know, when I came into this competition, I had two left feet and now I have one and a half and one less arm," said Cristian.

"One arm. If Heather Mills can do it on one leg, he can do it with one arm," said Cheryl.

Cristian's dances next week are the tango and the mambo.
