Paramedics spent several minutes treating the victim on the staircase of the apartment building. He was then taken to the hospital by ambulance.
The man's injuries are unknown, as are the circumstances of the shooting.
Police say the suspect may have driven off in a brown SUV, possibly a Ford Explorer, with a roof rack.
