Lower asthma rates on tree-lined streets

A new study done in New York found that kids who live on tree-lined streets have lower asthma rates. Researchers compared medical data of 4- and 5-year-olds to information about the number of trees, sources of pollution and population density.

They aren't sure what effect the trees have on the kids. Researchers say trees may help reduce asthma by encouraging children to play outdoors more.
