SOUTH L.A. --
Prom can be a special time for any teenage girl, and, it's usually all about the dress. But hundreds of high school students in our community can't afford a prom dress. That's where the organization The Cinderella Project comes in. In South L.A., these organizers are giving girls a prom night they'll never forget.
More than 400 girls were in South L.A. to pick out donated dresses for the prom. They could pick out any dress they wanted.
One junior from Woodrow Wilson High School was happy to find a red dress to wear.
"It feels great to come from a family that really doesn't have any economic budget to buy whichever dress you want. And to have a place where you can come and dress like a princess, choosing all of these different dresses, it's just amazing," said Bernice.
