When fire crews arrived, the apartment's garage area was fully engulfed in flames. Authorities say the fire then spread to the apartments.
About 20 residents were forced to evacuate.
"I started to smell smoke so I closed the window and then I ran to my dad's room. And when I turned on the light, the light just started to throw smoke so I just went back to my room and I grabbed my kids," said resident Marisol Ibarra.
It took fire crews about 30 minutes to put out the fire. Two apartments, as well as four single car garages and five vehicles were destroyed.
Luckily, no one was hurt.
An investigation is under way to determine what sparked the fire.
