LOS ANGELES --
A former LAPD police officer who committed home invasion robberies made to look like police raids will find out Monday if he will spend the rest of his life in federal prison.William Ferguson was convicted on a number of conspiracy charges as well as civil rights violations. He was part of a ring involving other law enforcement officers.
The ringleader, 38-year-old Ruben Palomares, testified against Ferguson. Palomares pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 13-years in prison.
The two men along with other uniformed officers raided homes where drugs or cash were believed to be stashed. The group would then split the money and sell the drugs on the streets for profit.
