L.A. Council approves $7B spending plan

LOS ANGELES Adopting a pet from a city shelter, playing golf at a municipal course and getting a car out of impound will all cost more soon.

The money will go toward keeping city parks from shutting down and libraries open on Sundays.

Homeless shelters will also be fully staffed and more roads will be repaved.

Plus the fire department will be fully funded, and we'll see more police officers on the streets.

The mayor is expected to sign the budget next week.
