Link between low birth-weight, autism

A new CDC study shows that children who were born underweight or early have more than double the risk of developing autism.

Researchers say the risk was higher for girls than boys.

Doctors say the findings don't provide anything they can use right away, but do reinforce the importance of monitoring children born early or underweight for behavioral problems so they can be treated.
