LOS ANGELES FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT

Frank Lloyd Wright was one of the most distinguished architects in American history. His buildings around the country are renowned for their visionary design. Many are right here in Los Angeles. In 1915, Wright came to Los Angeles from Oak Park, Illinois, because he was commissioned to design his first house here. And while some of his works are privately owned, a few are historical landmarks open to the public.

CALIFORNIA ROMANTICA

"California Romantica" is a book about Spanish-style architecture by actress Diane Keaton. Author D.J. MANSION RENOVATION

"The Cedars" is a mansion in Los Feliz, built in 1921 by French director and screenwriter Maurice Tourneur. It's inspired by a Venetian-styled palazzo. Today, it is owned by L.A.-based fashion designer Sue Wong, who purchased the home in 2004 and completed a three-year renovation on the mansion.

HISTORIC DOWNTOWN BUILDINGS

Step inside two of downtown Los Angeles' most iconic buildings: St. Vibiana's Cathedral and the Bradbury Building. Both buildings date back to the late 1800s, when L.A.'s population was a mere 10,000 people. Today, both buildings are still thriving, thanks to thorough renovation and preservation throughout the years. St. Vibiana's has been converted into a performing-arts space that can be rented out for private events. The Bradbury Building is still a working commercial building with 14 tenants -- the first floor is open to the public to view throughout the day.
