STUDENT ACADEMY AWARDS

For 35 years the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences has recognized some of the finest young filmmakers of their generation allowing students to demonstrate his or her filmmaking skills to industry professionals. The purpose of the Student Academy Awards competition is to support and encourage filmmakers with no previous professional experience who are enrolled in degree-granting programs and accredited colleges and universities as full-time students.

NICHOLL FELLOWSHIP IN SCREENWRITING

The Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting is an international competition open to screenwriters who have not earned more than $5,000 writing fictional work for film or television. The purpose of the Nicholl Fellowship program was created to aid new screenwriters. Up to five $30,000 fellowships are awarded each year.

WRITEGIRL

Through one-on-one mentoring and monthly creative writing workshops, "WriteGirl," a nonprofit organization for high school girls, focuses on empowering girls through self-expression. Within a community of women writers, "WriteGirl" promotes by providing sessions on poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, songwriting, journalism, screenwriting, playwriting, persuasive writing, journal writing, editing and more.
