Students can now choose best SAT score

Students will soon be able to choose only their best SAT scores from one test date to send to colleges.

The new policy takes effect for the class of 2010.

People against the policy say the change will benefit those who can pay to take the $45 test several times.

The fee has been waived for low-income students to take the test twice.

UC officials say the change will have no effect because the UC system only takes the best score from a single test date.
