"Good" cholesterol may protect memory

LOS ANGELES American Heart Association researchers found low levels of good cholesterol - also known as HDL have a higher risk for memory problems than those with high levels of HDL.

Scientists followed 3,700 middle aged adults and tested them twice in ten years.

Those who had good cholesterol levels drop had a higher risk for memory problems.

Better memory is just another benefit of having high HDL levels.
