Parents in trouble for student truancy

LOS ANGELES Thirteen parents were arraigned for keeping their kids away from school after Los Angeles City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo's office filed criminal charges against them.

Each parent faces one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and one count of violating the state education code.

Under state law, full-time education is mandatory from kindergarten to 12th grade.
