Firefighters douse El Sereno grass fire

EL SERENO, Calif. The brush fire was fanned by wind gusts and briefly threatened homes in the El Sereno area Tuesday afternoon.

Firefighters held the fire to within five acres. L.A. Fire Dept. Spokesman Brian Humphrey said 110 firefighters took just over an hour to put out the flames.

There were no reports of damage or injuries.

The cause of the fire was under investigation. The cause reportedly did not appear to be earthquake-related.
