Compound in brown rice helps diabetes

Experts say another thing you can do to control diabetes is to eat more brown rice. It appears this complex carbohydrate may boost the body's ability to control blood sugar.Researchers at the Medical College of Georgia found a compound in brown rice helps reduce diabetes-related damage in nerves and blood vessels.

That compound helps normalize a person's blood sugar levels that are often unstable in those who have diabetes.

One note: the compound's only effective if the brown rice soaked for 24 hours.
