Calls for restrictions on water usage

LOS ANGELES It calls for more restrictions on when you can use water, and how much water you can use.

For example, under the plan, lawn watering would be limited to 15 minutes a day. Restaurants could only serve water if customers ask for it. Hotels would have to give guests the option of whether they wanted to reuse their towels, and you could only wash your car if the hose has an automatic shutoff nozzle.

The Department of Water and Power says it would enforce the rules by using a team of drought busters.

First time offenders get a warning, and after that, you could face a fine ranging from $100 to $300.
