LOS ANGELES --
There's a new initiative to reduce graffiti by making taggers and their parents pay for damaging property. The L.A. County Supervisors will consider the measure on Tuesday.
According to the L.A. Times, the new ordinance would make violators and their parents liable for civil damages, with fines of up to $1,000.
Officials say the measure is a tool to hold parents accountable.
L.A. County spent $30 million last year on graffiti removal.
