A prosecutor says Malil appeared on the back patio of Kendra Beebe's house Sunday in San Marcos and attacked her with a knife while her two children slept upstairs.
Beebe was stabbed 20 times. The prosecutor says she remains hospitalized but is expected to survive.
Malil was ordered held in lieu of 10 million dollars bond after the judge deemed him a flight risk.
