Chronic chest pain may not need surgery

Researchers discovered that drugs may be as good as artery-opening stents for many patients.

At least one-third of angioplasties are done on people not in imminent danger of a heart attack.

The study finds that those people responded well to a combination of drugs. The study results are in the New England Journal of Medicine.
