VENTURA, Calif. --
The battle for a spot in a popular RV parking area is heating up as gas prices continue to rise.According to the Ventura County Star, because the parking spots fill up so quickly, many people are parking illegally, willing to take a parking ticket to camp out in front of the ocean.
Along with out-of-town visitors, local RV drivers are also fighting for a spot at Rincon Parkway because of high gas prices.
There were 358 illegal parking tickets written in July this year, compared to the 280 written in the same month last year, the newspaper reports.
