U.S. cars lose in customer satisfaction

In the past, U.S. car companies have steadily gained ground, remaining above foreign competitors, but this year, an index by the University of Michigan shows Lexus and BMW are virtually tied in first place for customer satisfaction, receiving 87 points out of a possible 100.

Toyota and Honda follow, both with 86 points, and Buick and Cadillac, which were once in second place, fell to third, along with Saturn. All three received 85 points.

Analysts say this is yet another blow to the struggling U.S. auto industry.
