McCain visits the Southland

McCain arrived, heavily guarded, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Monday night for a private fundraiser. This was just after making an appearance on a late night talk show.

McCain began his day visiting the Phoenix high school where his wife Cindy graduated. He shared the stage with Latin Grammy Award-winning artist Daddy Yankee, who endorsed McCain's campaign for president. McCain gave a nod to his rival at the speaking engagement.

However, McCain may still be trying to keep the Democratic Party divided. McCain debuted two new ads. One ad targets Hillary Clinton voters, while the other shows a former Clinton supporter now voting for McCain.

In Denver, Clinton tried her best to assure Democrats that the party is united.

"Let me state what I think about their tactics and these ads: 'I'm Hillary Clinton and I do not approve of that message,'" said Clinton.

A recent ABC News poll showed 20 percent of former Hillary Clinton supporters would vote for John McCain.

McCain may reveal the identity of his running mate as early as Friday.
