Study: California has obesity problem

The UCLA study found that 56 percent of the state's adults are overweight or obese. It also found of those patients, only a third of them have had a diet and nutrition discussion with their doctor.

The research suggests many physicians are too uncomfortable or lack the skills to address the issue.

More than 14 percent of California's adolescents are overweight or obese.
