COMPTON, Calif. --
An apparent drive-by shooting in Compton killed two people and injured three others Tuesday night, disrupting service at a stop along the Metro Blue Line.Innocent people were caught in the crossfire of the shooting near the intersection of Compton Boulevard and Willowbrook Avenue at about 6:30 p.m.
Police said before the shooting, words were exchanged in the streets, and some people involved in the heated exchange left, then returned in a car and opened fire with an automatic weapon. One or more people were targeted, according to police.
Authorities said the shooting was gang-related.
