Arsonist sets 6 brushfires in Murrieta

MURRIETA, Calif. Six small brushfires were set in Murrieta, two Monday, and four on Tuesday. The largest of the half-dozen fires was a ten-acre blaze two days ago.

There have been no major injuries or damage, but the fires were set in very dry, brushy areas, and high winds could have driven them near homes.

Residents are being urged to report anything suspicious. Anyone with information is urged to call Murrieta Police at (951) 696-3000, or the Murrieta Fire Department at (951) 304-3473.
