From any computer you can click to view the videos posted and to see if you have information about the suspect police are looking for.
In a recent case of an abandoned child the LAPD says the new system helped solve the crime.
"As a result of the ability to put the videos up on the LAPD online, through our LAPD-TV, we were able to solve the crime where we had an abandoned child who was walking down the sidewalk," said LAPD Sgt. Frank Preciado.
The Web site allows you to e-mail or text your information without having to identify yourself. That element has people giving them leads on a regular basis, according to police.
Eyewitness News reporter Sid Garcia: For somebody who may know something, how do you protect their anonymity?
"We have a step by step process. Once you click there it will tell you how you can remove it from your phone. So there is no returning back to the actual sender," said Sgt. Preciado.
