Half of doctors use placebo treatments

It's not always good medicine and a new report shows your doctor knows that.

The National Institutes of Health says U.S. doctors regularly prescribe placebos.

In a survey of internists and rheumatologists, researchers find half of them admitted to prescribing placebo.

Sixty-two percent believed the practice to be ethically acceptable despite the fact they rarely told patients they were giving them placebos.
