High dose of flu vaccine protects elderly

A research team at the University of Rochester gave study participants 65 and older four times the usual amount of the vaccine.

Doctors found their bodies produced more antibodies, making them less susceptible to infection.

Researchers say the goal is to increase immune response in older adults because they are at a higher risk for becoming seriously ill or dying from the flu.
